10th Int. Conf. on Knowledge-Based Intelligent Information & Engineering Systems

9 - 11 October 2006

Bournemouth, UK

Special Session on

 Knowledge-based Multi-criteria Decision Support

Call for Papers

Scope of the Session

Interactions between multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) and artificial intelligence (AI) have been recently explored by several researchers in order to develop enhanced methodologies for knowledge-based decision support. Within this context, new techniques have been proposed for handling uncertainty and vagueness using fuzzy/rough set theory, new preference models have been developed, and new computing methodologies have been used in complex MCDA problems based on evolutionary techniques. The aim of this session is to present the most recent advances on the development of knowledge-based multi-criteria decision support methodologies, exploring the interactions between MCDA, AI and soft computing techniques such as evolutionary computing, fuzzy sets, rough sets, neural networks, neuro-fuzzy systems, support vector machines, etc.
